Keep the telephone numbers for your vet, ASPCA/ NAPCC, and a local
emergency veterinary service in a convenient location.
In an emergency stay calm, panic will only transfer to your
cat. Do not attempt any therapy on your cat without contacting either the
National Animal Poison Control Center or your local vet.

If your cat is
experiencing seizures, unconsciousness, or having difficulty breathing, contact your
vet immediately! Be sure
to take with you to the vet any relevant product containers, vomited or chewed materials, or unusual
discharges.

Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) The only animal poison
control center in the U.S., they provide
a 24 hour hotline staffed by veterinarians.
The Center will do as many follow-up calls (follow-up
calls as necessary in critical cases, and at the
owner's request will contact their veterinarian. If a cat needs hands-on
veterinary care, the Center will direct an animal owner to their veterinarian.

- Hydrogen peroxide 3% (USP)
- Can of soft dog or cat food
- A large medicine
syringe
- Saline eye solution to flush
out eye contaminants
- Artificial tear gel to
lubricate eyes after flushing
- Mild grease-cutting
dishwashing liquid for bathing after skin contamination
- Rubber gloves (for you)
- Forceps to remove stingers
- Pet carrier for transporting
to your veterinarian
